Chinguruma (Cotton Grass-leaved Avens)

Its Japanese name comes from the fluffy seed heads resembling a child’s toy pinwheel (“chinguruma”).
Habitat: Alpine meadows, Tsurugaike trail, along Daikoku-dake Echo Line, Ken-ga-mine trail
Note: Even at the end of August, clusters can still be seen near the Hotokureijin bus stop on the Echo Line.
