Height: 5–15 cm Flower color: Pale pinkish purple Blooming season: Late June – Early August
Called the “Queen of Alpine Plants.” The name means “horse grass,” as the flower resembles a horse’s head.
Habitat: Tsurugaike trail, Mt. Maō-dake, Mt. Fujimi-dake, Mt. Daikoku-dake, Ken-ga-mine
Note: From the middle of the Ken-ga-mine trail to below Mt. Kaiko-dake, pink flowers form a beautiful band.
